@YouTube;

I have been thinking of the word solace & this is the hymn where it is located.

An Irish Canadian who wrote this song -Joseph Scriven- He left Ireland b/c his finance had drowned right before their wedding day. He moved to Canada and became a private tutor. Made an offer of marriage but she died as well. Meanwhile his mom was sick in Ireland and he could not go there so he wrote her this poem. Joseph used to just help people. No conditions attached. Some say he drowned, some say he committed suicide. Only the LORD Jesus Christ knows the heart!

The words comfort me today Esp. Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,

Thou wilt find a solace there.

What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,

Oh, what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere? (there sure is trouble everywhere)

We should never be discouraged— Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? ( I think of Jesus walking in the fire with the 3 Hebrew children)

Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden, Cumbered with a load of care? ( I worry way too much; fear of man is a snare)

Precious Savior, still our refuge— Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? ( it appears in my life that all I have left is Jesus, my online family & one daughter who still speaks to me; my beloved dogs; they are my friends)

Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,

Thou wilt find a solace there. (thank you Jesus)

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear; (thank you Jesus)

May we ever, Lord, be bringing All to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright, unclouded, There will be no need for prayer— Rapture, praise, and endless worship ( I cannot wait)

Will be our sweet portion there.
