In Saskatchewan – Eston and Rose town

my mom always shared how much she loved the ocean in White Rock British Columbia – the first time she saw the ocean when she was 9 years old.

My dad spoke of dust bowl that Saskatchewan was and cattle that were dead or dying in the prairie. Dad did not leave Saskatchewan until later on in life. He worked as a logger; as a faller; as a Pysch nurse where we meant mom in 1950’s when she was training as a nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital. They were married in 1955 and my older sister was born in June of 1955.

Mom was a nurse; then a director of Nursing; then in her 50’s started her own health care business; She died in May 2006 – she had celebrated her nursing school reunion and my 2nd oldest daughter Jessica Harper graduated this year with her nursing degree from Thompson River University

Dad age 25 years – the proverbial cigarette in his hand – he died in a logging accident in Jan 1975 – Stoney Creek Nass Valley British Columbia – so much more to the story but God knows –

Dad working – logging – he had a tower – hi lead logging – he had a cedar shake mill – Bella Coola Valley – i was born along with my sister, Belinda and my brother Dirk in Hagensborg British Columbia – I was born in 1960, Belinda in 1961 and my brother Dirk in 1963

at mom’s funeral in 2006 – i had just met chuck and my mom died – my sister Teresa – me – my youngest Christina Rachel Alicia Harper – my bambina, my little sausalina – Jessica Carolina Amelia Harper – she graduated nursing school in the same year –

Candice Eileen Katherine Harper – at Candice’s graduation from bible college – she is now director of Union Gospel Mission – She has worked for them since she was 22 years old – i love the above pic and this pic b/c we are rejoicing in family – which is a good thing – i have no idea if my parents were saved – but by the grace of God and the fact that he is a good, good, Father – i know he did share with love with them – Christ in me the hope of glory –

this is a memorial to mom – i purchased from regal magazine – but i do not have it – we lost a lot when we lost the farm overlooking bridge lake – i have not been able to plant a yellow rose yet for mom here in Granisle British Columbia – but i have painted some rooms yellow in this house on Hawthorne in memory of her – maranatha 2026!
